Roll Call. End of the year 2016. Weight Maintenance.
Did you maintain, lose, gain? Is your health better or the same or worse?
Post your update(s) in the comment section. There's still time to hop off the moderation, food addiction, type 2 diabetes train. Start now, see something better in 2017.
Ho, Ho, Ho... Santa is bringing me a device that should make it easier for me to compose short, one idea topics to my blog.
So I hope to have one personal update (weekend post) and one current topic and my take aways.
Here's my update:
Weight: I'm currently on my most excellent and best "feel good" plateau ( for me 119's).
I expect to maintain in the 119 area for 2-6 months or more. Higher Power willing.
Time restricted eating window: 6am to 1pm is working well, 5 lb loss in the last 6 months. It took just about a whole year to arrive at this place. No amount of experimenting was really working. Whew!
Low Carb Higher Natural Fat/Keto: I'm certainly not suffering a bland, non-satiating food template (Instagram account)
Periodic blood glucose monitoring: 60's-70's fasting to 70's to upper 80's 2 hour post. (mg/dL)
Daily weighing: and tracking
Fitbit HR charge: sleep and distance and activity monitoring,Walking, gym, rowing sprints- yep!
Onward with your eyes wide open and your mind willing to make changes to get to your best level of health.
HI - I have finished the year about a kilo more than last year... not happy about that but I'm still about 11 kilos down from a total loss of 14 kilos five years ago. Summer is here so I'm sure I can pull back a kilo or two.
ReplyDeleteThat's an impressive, long term maintenance, Lynda!!! Kudos to you and I do think spring and summer foods are in our favor. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteI am up about 5 pounds for the year. But I refuse to quit. Still keeping off 10 pounds from my high (4.5 years ago). As you said: onward.
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking in, Mikckie! Glad you are not giving up. If anything taught me to not give up, it's this last year and a half.
DeleteI'm down about six pounds since last year and eight pounds from the highest my weight went last year. I count this as a success after having major surgery in 2016, bronchitis (both the surgery and bronchitis forced me to take four months off exercise), and having plantar fasciitis. I am completely off grains and working on getting off sugar and dairy. I need to have minor hand surgery on Thursday for trigger thumb so I won't be able to lift for about three weeks, and lifting is my preferred form of exercise along with some HIT cardio. I have a plan in place to walk at least 10,000 steps starting Sunday and to do some cardio and bands for my legs. I am committed to not letting this derail me.
ReplyDeleteI am solidly in a size 8, and they fit the best they ever have. I am shooting for a size 6 in the new year.
HI Ali, thanks for posting your update. Yes, weight maintenance even under good body conditions is a lot of work, so maintenance with health problems is more than double the effort. Bravo!!
DeleteYeah!!! With the HIT and lifting, I'll bet you'll get to the lower size. Keep up the great work.
My update...I was up 10 pounds over goal weight this past year. Recently, I lost three pounds. I started to clean up my menu after a recent diagnosis of Hashimotos. I started to track my numbers, glucose number is back up to prediabetic ranges. I've gotten a bit of my energy back and started to exercise again. This week I plan on getting serious about getting back to my old healthy habits. Maybe even back to blogging...
ReplyDeleteHello Running Stitches! Thanks for your update. Oh, I hear you on the Hashimotos. It took me a year to feel better. I think that you are going in the right direction. Kudos. :) Good luck.
DeleteI am down but but but I am going to revisit this post 12/31/16 and hopefully will be posting a bigger loss currently down 15
ReplyDeleteKarla, hope things are going well for you. Cooking real food is a real good tool for long term weight maintenance. Bravo. :)
DeleteHello, stranger. :) It's been a good year for me. Blood pressure & resting heart rate are still corpse-like, I am maintaining in my 5-lb pocket (141-146 lbs since May 2008), turned 47 in July, ran my first half-marathon in October (as well as a bunch of other shorter races throughout the year). Pre-menopause is definitely happening and therefore the diet is as strict as ever. Constant vigilance. No room for error. Life is great.
ReplyDeleteNorma!!!!!! Hello, and thanks for updating. That 5 pound pocket. Golden, for sure. Glad you are being strict and of course Constant Vigilance. So glad you are doing well. Kudos.
